Constant Time Delay (CTD) Guide Card

The CTD guide card was developed to support members of the educational team in the delivery of constant time delay procedures (i.e., 0-second or 3-5 second delay trials). The front of the card denotes which type of trials the instructor is using and the back of the card presents scripted procedures. Training materials can be found with all of the Project IMPACT training materials in the following trainings:

System of Least Prompts (SLP) Guide Card

The system of least prompts (SLP) has been demonstrated effective in supporting the learning of students with ESN in the area of reading comprehension. The SLP guide card can be used to support members of the educational team in implementing a hierarchy of prompts to assist students in answering reading comprehension questions. The tool depicts a sequence of four prompt levels that include (a) a non-specific verbal prompt (b) specific verbal prompt, (c) model prompt, and (d) physical prompt. Training materials can be found with all of the Project IMPACT training materials in the following trainings:

Phase 1 Lesson Fidelity Data Sheet (PDF)

This fidelity data sheet can be used to record data on the implementation of research and evidence-based practices within a story- based lesson. Fidelity is determined by dividing the number of observed instructor behaviors by the total opportunities for the behaviors to be performed. That number is multiplied by 100 to get a percent accuracy.

Student Characteristic Survey (Digital Access)

The Student Characteristic Survey may help educators quickly identify ways in which students access literacy instruction. The form should be completed by a member of the educational team with direct experience in a instructing particular student. Information also can be collected from the students’ IEPs (as allowed by FERPA). This informal assessment addresses students’ basic communication skills and means of accessing literacy instruction. This information can be used to individualize instruction for students with differing support needs.

Pre-Post Test Samples

Story Chapters Adminstration Flip Book Student Answer Deck Score Sheet

These sample pre-posttest assessments demonstrate how instructors can collect summative data regarding student performance following a unit. During assessment, the instructor presents one question and the three corresponding response options at a time. The use of these assessments are similar to students end of grade assessments.

These samples were developed from a version of Sign of the Beaver based on the adapted text from Read and Tell, a publication by Attainment Company which can be found here: Attainment Read & Tell
